First COVID Safe Studio Shoot.

05/10/2020

Times certainly are strange! And as a photographer, all the lockdown rules are causing a few problems when it comes to shoots. Here in Huddersfield we can still meet other households! I was also lucky enough to receive a portable studio set up for my birthday which made creating a safe studio space pretty easy. Of course I could book out a studio space at Uni, however I've been quite poorly since last December so being able to set up a studio space in my kitchen has been a real blessing. Creating a safe studio space during a pandemic seems more complex than it actually is. Saturday I did a shoot and following basic government guidelines, we were 2m apart, at least one of us wore a mask at all times and once the model left, everything she touched was disinfected. I didn't have any particular ideas in mind going into this shoot, but I have a box of fabric that I've been meaning to use and what better time than now to experiment! I just wanted to pick up my camera, have a bit of fun and remind myself why I love this so much! The images came out quite interesting, especially masked ones. Here is a few of these!

I wanted to take images with the model not wearing a mask, however, this was still safe as i wore mine during this time and there was no one else in the house with us as to risk contamination. We also made sure the windows and doors were open as to not create a confined space. Below is a few more images from the shoot.
